Alterman Transport Lines, headquartered in Miami, Florida and founded in 1938, was as one of the country’s larges LTL (“Less-Than-Truckload”) refrigerated motor carriers. It operated seventeen terminals nationwide, including seven in Florida. Following the death of the founder, Alterman Transport Lines engaged CM&M as its exclusive financial advisor to arrange for the sale of the business. After obtaining and analyzing several offers, it was determined that the shareholders would maximize their value and minimize contingent liabilities by liquidating the company. We orchestrated the liquidation on a basis that was highly advantageous to the family and creditors. |
