The Napier Co., based in Meriden Connecticut and founded in 1875, is one of the oldest corporations in the U.S. For over thirty years, it was a leading manufacturer and distributor of branded costume jewelry. CM&M provided financial advisory services and a fairness opinion with respect to its sale to Victoria + Co. Ltd. Napier has had a history of transferring ownership of the company to successor management teams. The decision to sell was based on the company’s analysis of the risks and the costs of staying independent. Victoria, based in Rhode Island, has made several acquisitions in the industry. |
