At Carter Morse & Goodrich, we are proud to partner with accomplished executives whose experience and insight support our clients across industries. This spotlight features Michael Koster, a respected leader with more than 40 years of experience in HVAC distribution and building products.
Mike most recently served as CEO of Williams Distributing, a leading HVAC wholesale distributor based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Recently acquired by Daikin Industries, a world-leading HVAC manufacturer of comfort systems that serve homes, businesses, and communities globally, Williams now operates as part of the Daikin family of brands, serving customers across Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. The Company has been recognized as a Top 50 distributor in ACHR News’ annual Distributor Rankings and is a highly respected platform within the HVAC distribution landscape.
In addition to leading Williams, Mike served on the Board of the Blue Hawk HVACR Distributor Cooperative, one of the HVAC industry’s most influential independent distributor cooperatives nationwide.
Mike earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Central Michigan University and became a CPA in 1980. He began his relationship with Williams as an external accountant to the Company before joining full-time in 1981, working his way through the organization to eventually serve as President and CEO beginning in 2005.
Mike’s decades of leadership and deep industry expertise make him a valuable resource to CMG’s HVAC industry practice, as well as the broader circle of founder- and family-owned businesses that we serve.
